Savings Estimate Methodology
The methodology differs by country due to different market structures, regulators, and data sources.
Where you provide your actual annual consumption in kWh, that figure is used directly. Where you do not, consumption is estimated from your household size using the national averages described below.
United Kingdom
Estimates are based on the difference between the Ofgem Price Cap for Q2 2026 (£1,641/year for a typical household) and the cheapest available tariff according to the Ofgem State of the Market Report (January 2026). Regional values are derived from Ofgem's licence regions via the postcodes.io lookup service. Annual household consumption is mapped to household size using Ofgem average-consumption figures (national baseline: 3,100 kWh/year).
Ireland
Estimates are based on the CRU average household consumption of 4,200 kWh/year and the price range between the cheapest and most expensive available supplier, as reported by moneyguideireland.com (May 2026). No regional variation is applied; a single national rate is used.
These figures are estimates only. Actual savings depend on your current tariff, usage, and location.
